UAE Open Athletic Meet 2016 on Nov 18

Abu Dhabi: India Social and Cultural Centre (ISC), Abu Dhabi will host UAE Open Athletic Meet at Armed Forces Club, Abu Dhabi on November 18 from 8:30 am onwards. This all day event is envisaged to attract over 300 children from various schools across the UAE in addition to adult category sports persons. ISC Open Athletic meet is considered as the pioneer and most prestigious Open Athletic meet for expat Indian Community in UAE.

ISC is hosting this meet for the 5th consecutive year, and this year by joining hands with NMC Health Care, OGES InfoTech, ART and Perfect Cargo. The meet aims to give appropriate opportunities to the participants to showcase their love for sports, express inherent talent and portray competency. The meet will be conducted in 13 event categories and each event category shall have different age groups and gender segregations. Accordingly participants ranging from tiny tots to youth to even veteran -who were once champion sports persons- are expected to take part in the meet. Lunch and refreshments throughout the event will be arranged by ISC for all participants.

Attractive trophies and certificates will be given to the winners. Overall School Championship for Boys and Girls will be given in addition to individual male & female championship trophies.

An organizing committee headed by Ziad Kamarudheen and Younus, the outdoor sports section secretary and team will coordinate the meet under the leadership of Hon. Sports Secretary Nizar and Hon. Asst. Sports Secretary Prakash with the guidance of Hon. President Thomas Varghese and Hon. General Secretary John P. Varghese.
