A major earthquake warning has been given by the US Geological Survey Agency, in the Gulf States including Iraq and some part of East Asia, says a report from Shafaq News.
It is reported that a very large earthquake measuring 9 to 10 on the Richter scale may hit the above places between April 25 to 30.
As per the news report, the US Geological Survey Agency has pointed out that “a huge platelet in the bottom of the ground in a depth of 20 km will move southeast Iran to the Gulf states from southern Iran while a platelet will move from the east to the countries of Pakistan, India and East Asia and may cause a very large earthquake .““The preliminary magnitude of the quake is estimated at 10 degrees on the Richter scale, and can destroy an entire region and bury it,” the report said.
The agency warned “southern Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, the central and eastern Saudi Arabia and the north-east of Amman of aftershocks of a magnitude of 5 degrees which is capable of destroying the infrastructure, including roads, streets, bridges, stations, electricity and telecommunications towers, media, Internet, high-rise towers as well as all public facilities”. It added that Japan is exposed to serious tidal waves.
