Dubai: UAE’s most awaited Vanoo Masters Premier League (MPL) 2015 commenced here in a brief inaugural ceremony held at the ICC Cricket Academy Grounds, Dubai. Don D’Souza and Sharon D’Souza from Kuwait Raiders and one of the event sponsors declared the tournament open.
Hanan Cricket Club Qatar Chief Raja, Oxford Marine owner Rumaan Bunty M, ICC representative Mahesh and Dan was present during the inauguration. Twelve top teams from GCC are participating in one of the first and the biggest Hard Tennis Ball cricket tournament to display their extreme passion for cricket. Masters Sports Club, Dubai headed by President Sadiq Kaup, organizing committee members, team owners and players also participated in the inaugural ceremony.
Kuwait Raiders, Aras Wolfpack, Eleven warriors, HCC, Oxford Marine, Royal hawks, DBMSC, BM Challengers, Shanan Star, Pacific ventures, Nafis group and Friday chargers are the twelve teams participating in the tournament.
The teams are divided into four groups and each group will play a minimum of two league matches. International standard rules and regulations will be used during the match. Internationally trained and experienced umpires, decision panel boards will ensure that all the procedures will be rightfully followed during the entire event.
Well known Pakistani ex-cricketer and ‘Golden Arm’ fame Mudassar Nazar will be chief guest along with the Title Sponsor Abdul Rehman Vanoo during the presentation and valedictory ceremony of the tournament which will be held on October 16, 2015 starting at 2 PM.
Red Bull is the official beverage of the tournament. The event will also include an entertaining performance by Sabir, live DJ music by DJ Mayank and many more exciting programmes.
