Police take action after finding and learning about missing youth
Diganth, the young boy from Farangipete, Bantwal, who had been missing for several days, was finally located in Udupi, ending a mysterious disappearance that raised numerous questions.
Coming from a joint family, Diganth was a bright student but had recently lost interest in studies and became addicted to mobile phones. After being scolded by his parents, he left home and wandered near a railway track, injuring his foot. His bloodstained slipper found at the site fueled speculation, prompting protests and a police search.
His journey took him through Mangaluru, Shivamogga, Mysuru, Bengaluru, and finally Udupi, where he survived by working briefly at a resort, eating leftover food, and traveling with his savings. When he tried to take clothes from a D-Mart without paying, store staff recognized him from missing person reports and alerted authorities.
Dakshina Kannada police swiftly coordinated with Udupi police to rescue him. He has since been sent to a juvenile home in Bondel, while legal proceedings continue. The case highlights the impact of family dynamics and digital addiction on young minds.
