Raichur: Railway Police Crack Kidnapping Case, Rescue 3-Year-Old Child
In a swift operation, the railway police in Raichur have successfully arrested the individuals responsible for abducting a three-year-old child from the Udyan Express train. The child has been safely rescued and reunited with their parents, thanks to the coordinated efforts of the Raichur Police, Child Protection Unit, and Childline.
Prakash and Hampamma, along with their two children, were travelling from Raichur to Bangalore when they encountered auto driver Rupesh and his wife, Kusama. The couple, who had been married for 22 years without children, befriended the family during the journey. At one point, Rupesh and Kusama offered a biscuit to the child and, when the parents fell asleep, abducted the child and disembarked at Anantapur railway station.
The Prakash family immediately reported the incident to the Anantapur police, who launched a search operation and alerted the Raichur and Dharmavaram police. The suspects were eventually tracked down through their mobile phone and apprehended at the Raichur bus stand.
Rupesh confessed to the police that he had stolen the child due to his strong desire for a child after 22 years of marriage.
The Rescue
Thanks to the timely coordination between the authorities, the child was safely rescued and handed over to their parents. Railway police officials commended the joint effort, noting that the child was located swiftly due to effective teamwork.
