
RCB’s IPL 2025 Auction Update: Big Spend, Big Plans
The 2025 IPL mega auction, held in Jeddah on November 24 and 25, saw 577 players up for grabs.
RCB’s Auction Day 1 Performance:
On the opening day of the auction, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) made significant moves, securing six new players for their squad. Among their top purchases were Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood and English opener Phil Salt, both of whom were brought in for substantial sums. Despite their big spend, RCB still has a hefty Rs. 30.65 crore left in their budget.
RCB’s Squad So Far:
The RCB lineup now includes prominent players such as Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Yash Dayal, and newcomers like Liam Livingstone (Rs. 8.75 crore), Phil Salt (Rs. 11.50 crore), Jitesh Sharma (Rs. 11 crore), Josh Hazlewood (Rs. 12.50 crore), Rasikh Dar (Rs. 6 crore), and Suyash Sharma (Rs. 2.60 crore).
Budget and Remaining Options:
RCB still has a sizable Rs. 30.65 crore available in their purse, with three Right to Match (RTM) cards left to use. They have 16 more player spots open, including five overseas slots yet to be filled.
With plenty of room for further reinforcements, RCB seems primed for a strong finish in this year’s auction.
