Bengaluru: Actor Ashok, who served the Karnataka Cinema Workers Federation as the founding president for over three decades tendered his resignation on January 6.
"Due to personal reasons, I am quitting," he informed the federation members.
According to sources, Ashok had tendered resignation two years ago. But federation office bearers didn't accept it.
"Let the young leaders lead the federation. Labour laws have changed, and cinema workers are facing several problems. So, a young leader is the need of the hour," he stated.
Ashok started this federation in the early '90s. He was successful in fixing minimum wage for the workers and other benefits.
