The latest film to be all set to hit the big screen post lockdown is debutant Uday Prasanna’s Mahishasura. A film that is based on a true-life incident, the trailer of the film has already grabbed numerous eyeballs, thus creating many expectations around the film. In fact, Mahishasura’s story has been inspired by an intriguing incident that unfolded in Melekote in Doddaballapur some time ago.

Uday Prasanna, who had nursed dreams of becoming an actor, came to Gandhinagar with ambitions of starring in films. But it was direction that ultimately beckoned him and Mahishasura took off.

The film stars a whole bunch of newcomers including leading men Sudarshan and Raj Manju and leading lady Bindu. “My inspiration in films have been Upendra and Prem,” shares Uday who has worked with Sanjay Kulkarni, Hemanth Hegde and Salim Raju as an assistant and associate director.

“Mahishasura is about how the underprivileged section of the society are always exploited by the powerful segment and their travails in life. We have shown this in a rather realistic manner,” sums up Uday.
