The recent launch of Mercedes-AMG SLC came as an instant replacement to the SLK roadster in the product portfolio of Mercedes. Branded with a brand new nomenclature, Mercedes launched the SLC 43 in India at an ex-showroom price of INR 77.5 lakh. The vehicle was introduced in the showrooms of Delhi.
The SLC 43 is believed to be an improvised version of the SLK roadster, and is the first in the  ‘43’ model series which has been launched in the Indian product portfolio of Mercedes. The machinery behind the manufacture of SLC 43 marked the phasing out of the 5.5 liter V8 motor which was used in the SLK roadster vehicle. The new engine comprise a smaller, more sophisticated twin-turbo charged V6 machine, with a capacity of 3 liters.

The improvised motor can produce a power of 367 HP and build a torque of 520 Nm, complemented with a nine speed gearbox. The vehicle can accelerate from rest to 100 kmph in 4.7 seconds, with the top speed restricted to 250 kmph.

In terms of look and feel, although the side view of SLC 43 remains pretty much the same as that of SLK roadster, the front view has been revised with new bumper and daylight running LED lamps. The rear of the car has a new bumper, exhaust and LED detailed tail lamp.

The aesthetics of the cabin has undergone certain improvisations including a large command system display, steering & instrument cluster. The roof adjustments are completely automated, completely removing any manual intervention for luggage cover.

With all these features and exotic design, the SLC 43 is all set to compete with BMW Z4 and the likes of Porsche Boxster and Jaguar F-Type.
