New Delhi: Hackers have hit robotic Process Automation (RPA) firm UiPath and the company is currently emailing users about a security incident that exposed their personal information online, the media reported on Friday.

The information that has been compromised includes names, email addresses, usernames, company name, country locations, and UiPath certification details for users who signed up for the company’s online learning platform called the UiPath Academy reports ZDNet.

According to the company, no passwords or financial information were exposed and only data of UiPath Academy users was compromised.

“On December 1, 2020, UiPath became aware of an incident that resulted in unauthorised disclosure of a file containing limited personal information about users of UiPath Academy,” the company said in the email sent to users.

“We are aware of only one online source where the information was made available. For important security (and other related) reasons, UiPath is unable to name the source,” the company added.

According to the company, users who registered on its platform before or on March 17, 2020, had their details leaked.

UiPath, however, did not divulge the details about how many users were impacted.
In July this year, UiPath announced it has raised $225 million (nearly Rs 1,692 crore) in its Series E investment round, at a valuation of $10.2 billion.

In the last two years, the company has grown its annual recurring revenue (ARR) from $100 million to over $400 million and aims to advance the market-leading hyper-automation platform and expand cloud offerings.
