Shivamogga: Anuradha. G. has been appointed as the new University Registrar (Administration) of Kuvempu University. She was sworn into office at around 12.30 pm on Thursday July 22.
Erstwhile Registrar Professor S. S. Patil handed over the power to her. Chancellor Prof. B. P. Veerabhadrappa was present on the occasion.
Anuradha, a native of Shivamogga, is a gold medallist in Zoology from Kuvempu University and a senior Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) officer. She was also Shivamogga district’s Additional Deputy Commissioner until recently.
In a circular issued by the Registrar, it is stated that the on directions by University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Government of Karnataka, Kuvempu University will resume physical classes for Bachelor’s, Master’s and BEd courses on Monday July 26 and students will be required to comply with the Covid – 19 guidelines issued by the government. The students have been instructed to attend classes only after taking the first dose of the Covid vaccination.
University Vice Chancellor Prof. B. P. Veerabhadrappa, who spoke on the preliminary measures for resuming classes assured students to attend classes with awareness and with no fear as all the Covid guidelines and instruction by the government has been followed and will be followed, especially keeping in mind students’ welfare.
Kuvempu University will resume its academic activities after three months following the State Government’s permission to open colleges and resume classes. As per government’s Covid guidelines, the campus is being fully sanitised which includes classrooms, hostels, laboratories and offices.
The Kuvempu University has instructed students to obtain a minimum first dose vaccine in order to attend classes, wear mask mandatorily, maintain physical distance, and maintain hygiene by using a sanitiser.
