Shivamogga: Taking exception to the C-Voter survey, which predicted that the BJP will win in RR Nagar and Sira constituencies by a huge margin, former chief minister Siddaramaiah said that he is unaware on what basis this survey was conducted.

Speaking to reporters in Shivamogga, Siddaramaiah said that the BJP has lured voters with money and the Congress, instead went to people based on the work done by the Congress government.
“All I can say is that the Congress will win in both the constituencies. I have sensed the pulse of the people,” he said.

Speaking about his recent comment on the change of CM in the state, Siddaramaiah said that he had made a statement based on inputs he had received from insiders.

“There are few factions within the BJP too and in fact, if sources are to be believed then an effort to topple BSY was made three months ago. However, it is said that they are waiting for the Bihar poll results to be out,” he said.

Responding to the arrest of Congress leader Vinay Kulkarni, Siddaramaiah said that the entire incident seems to have been politically motivated.

When asked about the state BJP leaders talking about bringing in stringent laws to curb ‘Love Jihad/ religious conversion’, he said that if a law is framed in this regard then it will go against the constitution.

“Religion that I would want to follow is a personal choice,” he said.

Continuing his tirade against CM BS Yediyurappa for initiating ‘Operation Kamala’ in local body elections in Shivamogga, he said that BSY is the ‘Father of Operation Kamala’.

“It was he who gave birth to ‘Operation Kamala’ in 2008,” he said.
