Shivamogga: Shivamogga district in-charge Minister K S Eshwarappa has lamented that due to the negligence of the people to take precautionary measures against COVID-19 pandemic, the number of cases has been increasing rapidly in the recent days.
During a meeting at DC’s office here on Saturday, June 27 Eshwarappa said, “Even when the district administration has instructed the public not to gather in big numbers anywhere in the district, people had ignored the directions, which has now resulted in the spike in cases. We will be able to curb down Corona cases only if the people support the district administration and strictly follow the guidelines set forth by them”.
He also emphasized the need of taking precautionary measures to check the spread of COVID-19. “Those who ignore the directions of the government are inviting the disease to themselves and will spread the disease to others,” he added.
Meanwhile, Eshwarappa reiterated that there is no question of releasing Sharavathi river water to Bengaluru.
