Shivamogga: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj KS Eshwarappa has said that his son Kanthesh will not be contesting as BJP candidate from Ranibennur constituency.
Addressing reporters in Shivamogga on Monday evening, KSE said that posts on social networking sites have sparked such talks. “There is pressure from supporters and partyworkers, but nothing of that sort has been proposed so far,” he said.
Meanwhile, talking about the disqualified MLAs, the veteran leader said that they will wait for the Apex Court to deliver its verdict.
“We will speak to the disqualified MLAs. The ones who have helped the BJP to come to power will be given an opportunity to contest in the by-polls,” he said taking a jibe at former Speaker Ramesh Kumar, who had disqualified the MLAs.
“He was the Speaker of the coalition government and he was acting like a Congress and Siddaramaiah’s agent,” said Eshwarappa.
Ramesh Kumar was agent of the Congress, says Minister Eshwarappa
