Shivamogga: “It is not only important to have knowledge but it also important to translate the knowledge into actions. Identifying the core issues and acting aptly is the use of knowledge”, said Governor of Karnataka, Vajubhai Vala, here on Tuesday, December 18, speaking on the occasion of the platinum jubilee of Deshiya Vidya Samsthe (DVS).
He meanwhile called upon the students to also stay away from fashion and addictions. “It is not important to look beautiful but to live beautifully,” he said
Adding to that he said “Youth with good deeds and right intentions should come forward to build a better India and inculcate nationalism in them.”
Inaugurating the exhibition, the Bharatiya Janata Party State President B S Yeddyurappa said, “Many of the institutions like DVS, which were established by great freedom fighters are celebrating platinum jubilee, which speaks volumes of the quality education that it has been rendering.”
He said that a good number of students, who have passed out from such institutions, were and are placed in top positions serving the nation and taking its glory to the world.
President of DVS K Basappa Gowda presided over the programme and gave his opening remarks.
Vice Chancellor of Kuvempu University Prof. Dr. Jogan Shankar, Vice President of DVS K S Rudrappa, Secretary S Rajashekhar and others were present.
