
Shivamogga Court Awards Life Imprisonment to Four in 2022 Murder Case
Shivamogga: The 2nd Additional District and Sessions Court in Shivamogga has sentenced four youths to life imprisonment for the murder of Zikrullah, a 28-year-old mechanic, in 2022.
The convicts—Shahbaz Sharif (20) from Milaghatta, Wasim Akram alias Che Ungli (20) from Tempo Stand, Wasim Akram alias Kala Wasim (20) from Budha Nagar, and Fayaz Ullah Rehman alias Ruman (23) from Murad Nagar—were found guilty of fatally assaulting Zikrullah with deadly weapons.
The incident occurred on March 19, 2022, after a parking dispute between Zikrullah and Gas Imran in Budda Nagar. Zikrullah, who also had a prior conflict with another individual named Twist Imran, was attacked by the accused near Falak Shadi Mahal on NT Road. Despite being rushed to Government Meggan Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries the following day.
The victim’s brother filed a complaint at Doddapet Police Station, prompting an investigation led by Inspector Anjan Kumar. Following arrests, a detailed chargesheet was submitted to the court.
Presiding Judge Pallavi B.R. sentenced the accused to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹30,000 on each. Government prosecutor P.O. Pushpa successfully represented the case for the prosecution.
