Shivamogga Toddler Tragically Dies from Severe Burns After Tea Spill Incident
In a heartbreaking accident in Hirimane, near Hosanagara town in Shivamogga district, two-year-old Atharva Patil succumbed to severe burn injuries after an unfortunate incident involving a hot tea spill. On October 24, Atharva’s mother, Ashwini Patil, had placed a utensil filled with tea on a raised platform near their home. While playing nearby, Atharva accidentally pulled at the utensil, causing the scalding tea to spill onto his body. The burns, which covered over 40% of his body, led to significant trauma.
Atharva’s parents, Ashwini and Rajesh Patil, rushed him to a hospital in Mangaluru, where he received intensive care for eight days. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, Atharva’s condition worsened, and he sadly passed away on Friday morning. Rajesh, a close associate of local MLA Araga Jnanendra, and Ashwini are devastated by the loss of their son. The tragedy has deeply impacted the family, who also have another child.
This tragic incident highlights the importance of child safety and awareness in homes, particularly around hot liquids and other potentially dangerous items. The local community has expressed deep condolences, offering support to the grieving family in this difficult time.
