After the lifting of the COVID-19 lockdown, Kannada films are being released with great enthusiasm that has been building up over the period. One such movie that is “Mahishasura”, which will be released on Friday, January 8, after nearly two years of hard work.

Directed by debutant Uday Prasanna, the film has already grabbed the attention of the cinema lovers as its story is based on real events.

The story of “Mahishasura” has been framed along the lines of how politicians and people of the upper class misuse the poor and innocent. “The film is an attempt at conveying credibility to the society and highlight the loopholes in the system,” says Uday Prasanna.

“The story is the hero of ‘Mahishasura’ and posturizes a tender love triangle,” he adds.

Sudarshan and Raj Manju play the male leads in the film, while Bindu plays the female lead.

A majority of the film has been shot in Doddaballapura’s Melekote and the other parts are beautifully captured in Ramanagar, Maddur, Mandya and Channapatna.
The director has given more importance to the natural aspects of the film.

Raghu Pandya, Rockline Sudhakar and various new artists are also a part of “Mahishasura”. The film has four songs and Sunil Kaushi and Sai Kiran are the music directors, while Krishna is the cinematographer.

Parvati Chandrasekhar, Leelavathi Suresh Kumar and Prema Chandraiah have produced “Mahishasura” under the banner of “Melekote Touring Talkies”.
