Priyamani, who had two releases on October 7 in form ‘Dana Kayonu’ and ‘Idolle Ramayana’ is on cloud nine. The films which are different from each other have opened to good response from their target audience. ‘Dana Kayonu’ has managed to get excellent critical reviews, which was much needed for Yograj Bhat, whose last few films have not been able to impress the critics much.
‘Dana Kayonu’ is a satirical take on how animals are better than human. The film has a simple plot with essential commercial ingredients. The film was also promoted well. Even though it clashed with ‘Jaguar’, which got more screens, the film has managed to get audience to theatres.
Prakash Rai’s directorial ‘Idolle Ramayana’, which is a remake of Malayalam hit ‘Shuttler’ has also been liked by critics. The film has less screens and is expected to do well over a period of time.
With both films opening to decent reviews, let us see how the film fares in the coming days. There are many big releases in coming weeks, so it is important for both the films to do well in weekdays, so that they can retain screens.
