Kannada film ‘Vijayaditya’ will be better than ‘Baahubali’, says actress Parul Yadav

Here is good news for Kannada cine buffs who love action-oriented films laced with history of Karnataka. The shooting of the much publicised period film Vijayaditya is all set to be completed shortly.

Parul Yadav, who earned name and fame in Sandalwood with her sterling performance in Kannada film Govindaya Namaha, is brimming with confidence about the success of Vijayaditya. “Many people asked me whether Vijayaditya will be on par with Telugu film Baahubali. I told them that Vijayaditya will be better than Baahubali because it has all the ingredients to cater to the needs of Kannada audiences,’’ Parul  said.

A fashion show, organised at Jayamahal Palace Hotel in Bengaluru recently, was part of the shooting of Vijayaditya. Parul Yadav was seen in glittering costumes designed by Preeti S Kapur from New Delhi. “The fashion show helps us not only in promoting Vijayaditya but also adds value for this film. Parul Yadav is acting as a super model in this film,’’ says Nirbhay Chakravarthi, who makes debut as a full-fledged director in in Karnataka film industry with this venture. Karnataka film industry is popularly referred to as Sandalwood.

According to one of the producers, Indudhar, the budget of Vijayaditya has already touched the Rs.10 crore mark and more money was needed to complete the remaining portion of the film and its post-production work. “We are not compromising on the quality of the film. We are ready to spend money as per the requirement,’’ said Indudhar.

Dhananjay, who made debut in Sandalwood with the film Director’s Special in 2013, plays the lead role in this film. Apart from Parul, the film has two other heroines—? Kavya Shetty and Shravya Reddy. Dhananjay also acted in a documentary titled, Jayanagar 4th Block, another Kannada film Rhaate. “I got injured while riding a horse during the shooting.  I was at home for three months to recover from injuries. I learnt Kalari martial art for this film,’’ says Dhananjay.
