‘Rai’, the autobiography of Muthappa Rai is all set to be relaunched. Two years back, the film was launched with much fanfare and then renowned filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma was supposed to direct the film, which was expected to be produced by C R Manohar starring Vivek Oberoi in title role. However the film was dropped for reasons best known to former underworld don Muthappa Rai.
Now, the film has been taken over by L Padmanabh, who is close aide of Muthappa Rai. The film will be made under MR Pictures banner and Muthappa Rai will be presenting the film. It will be started from scratch. More importance will be given to Kannada actors and crew this time, it is said. The producer already has good Kannada directors in mind, who are passionate to do this kind of project. An official announcement regarding the same will be made soon.
Meanwhile, Padmanabh, who last produced “Kaalej Kumar”, is happy with the response for the film. The film is getting demand of remakes from other languages as well.
