Bengaluru: The 66th National Film Awards ceremony was held on August 9. The Kannada film industry shone especially bright by bagging 11 titles at the award ceremony.
Sandalwood actress Sruthi Hariharan won the special jury award. The win comes as a special treat as an added bonus as she recently became a mother to a baby girl.
The film “Nathicharami”, directed by Mansore, won as many as five titles at the award ceremony.
According to the winners’ list, Kannada film “Ondalla Eradalla”, directed by Satya, gets the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration.
The other winners are “Sarkari Hiriya Prathamika Shaale”, directed by Rishab Shetty, as the Best Film under the Children’s Film category. P V Rohith as the Best Child Artist. Bindu Malini as the Best Female Playback Singer, Mansore as Best Lyricist and Nagendra Ujjani for Best Editing for “Naticharami”. Best Special Effects went to “KGF”. Vikram More and Anbu Ariv were awarded Best Stunt Direction for “KGF”. “Sarala Virala”, directed by Ere Gowda won Best Educational Film and “Mukajjiya Kanasugalu” won Best Archive.
