Karnataka is a big market for Telugu films. There is a lot of bidding done to acquire Telugu films. If there is a Kannada connection in the film, then the chances of the film acquiring more price also increases. For “Baahubali”, Sudeep played a small role. His name was used to sell the theatrical rights in Karnataka.
Similarly now, Shivarajkumar will be seen in a Telugu film.
The makers of Telugu film “Gautamiputra Satakarni” have released a motion teaser featuring Sandalwood star Shiva Rajkumar from the film.
However, they have not revealed what character Shivanna plays in the historical drama. The film is the 100th film of Telugu star Balakrishna and the first non-Kannada film for Shiva Rajkumar, in a career that has crossed 100 films.
Shivanna features in a song sequence which introduces the character of “Gautamiputra Satakarni”.
The song also features Balakrishna and the leading lady Shriya Saran. It reportedly appears 15 minutes before the intermission.
Balakrishna’s film is releasing with Chiranjeevi’s comeback film. Chiranjeevi is a bigger star than Balakrishna. To give stiff competition to the film, the makers have said to have approached Shivanna for the role.
