Avadhoota, a magazine that has humanism and spirituality at its core is all set to begin a new trend in the field of journalism. Soon to be launched, it would be a monthly English magazine with the objective of spreading peace among the people.
The word Avadhoota is of Sanskrit origin and it means ‘to shake’ or to stimulate something which is hidden. It is not restricted to any religion but as a concept is beyond any religion. It has its base in the value of humanity.
Recently, Avadhoota got accreditation from Press Council of India, and in couple of months Avadhoota will be published. The main office of Avadhoota is in Bengaluru from where it will be published in future.
Inspiration
Speaking to NewsKarnataka, Editor and Publisher of the magazine Suresh S. M. said that he was deeply pained by religious divide in the society. Hence to lessen the division Avadhoota was conceptualised, he asserted.
About Avadhoota
Avadhoota is a magazine which will have 40 pages. It will mainly focus on stories about Mosques, Churches, and Temples. Further, it will also focus on stories that will speak about religious harmony and about organisations/individuals who are into providing social respective irrespective of religious divide. It will published in three states namely Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and in 3 states Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. It aims at recognising achievers from various religions with emphasis only on true and credible content. As many as 15 staff are currently working for the company.
People’s contribution is welcome
We will not only publish the content contributed by the staff but also common people who are interested to contribute their articles to the magazine. The non-staff content should be based on religion and Science, Suresh informed.
Objective of Avadhoota
The main objective of the magazine is to restore peace, humanity, and equality in the society. It is common to witness hate among people of different religions. Therefore, Avadhoota has the intention of eradicating religious hate from the society.
Message of Avadhoota
Suresh said every religion has its own custom, culture, and tradition yet all religions preach only one thing – humanity. So we should do good to the society, if not in large amount atleast in a very small way, as that is enough contribution to the society as a responsible human being.
