The much-awaited sci-fi action film Avatar: The Way of Water’s official trailer was released by Director James Cameron on Wednesday November 2. James Cameron shared the trailer on Instagram and Twitter with the caption: “Pandora awaits this December.”

Starring Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement, and Kate Winslet, the film is produced by Cameron and Jon Landau.

The 2 minutes 28-second trailer takes us back to Pandora and immerses us in a beautiful underwater world. The trailer shows that over 10 years have passed since the first Avatar movie when the events in Avatar: The Way of Water takes place.

However, as they meet the now-familiar threat of human invasion, things start to go awry for the Sully family. It shows the Sully family with Jake, Neytiri, and their children, working hard to protect their home on Pandora from the other alien invaders. The Sully family is depicted in the video fighting for their safety and going through numerous disasters while trying to stay alive.

With over 75K tweets, #AvatarTheWayOfWater has been trending on Twitter.

20th Century Studios shared a video on Twitter with the caption, “In celebration of the new trailer for #AvatarTheWayOfWater, a dazzling light show illuminated Niagara Falls and featured highlights of the film. Experience the movie only in theatres December 16.”

“Loving this New image from just a different angle to the one we got during the Empire Magazine Cover Story. The photorealism is spectacular especially in the hair!!,” wrote a user.

Another user wrote, “Home! Family! Struggle & Survival! Emotions speak louder than action in this beautiful trailer & exceeded my expectations on a whole different level. Gonna swim into #AvatarTheWayOfWater on Dec 16 2022.”

The upcoming film is the sequel to James Cameron’s Oscar-winning film Avatar, which was released in 2009.
