Jain sir instilled humanity in us, say his students

Dubai: The 23rd episode of NewsKarnataka.com’s Namaste Teacher was held on Saturday May 21 at 6.30 pm IST.

The guest teacher for the evening was Shridhar Jain. The special guests of the evening were his students Dr. Vadiraja Kalluraya, Assistant Professor, St. Raymond’s Pre-University College, Vamanjoor, Kodibettu Rajalakshmi, Author, Mangaluru, Uday Kumar Addoor, Architectural Model Maker, Bengaluru, Spoorthi Megha, Geometrical Architect, Volvo Group Truck Technology, and Yogish Kumar, Senior Project Manager, Bosch Global Software, Bengaluru

The event host was Kiran Nirkan.

Through teacher-student interaction, the series strives to highlight teachers and their impact on students. The show was premiered on youtube.com/newskarnataka.

Kiran Nirkan introduced the guests and welcomed them. Shridhar Jain becoming nostalgic said, “My first day in school as a student was scary because my friend had blood stained shirt as a result of a teacher’s punishment”. He recalled his school days and the incidents that inspired him to take up teaching career. Teacher Shridhar Jain also pointed out his each student guests and acknowledged their presence recalling their school days.

Yogish Kumar said, “Shridhar Sir is a gem of a person. In a student’s life he has been humble like a mother, guardian like a father and has been a torch-bearer in instilling the humanity within his students.”

Spoorthi Megha reminisced, “I was Shridhar Sir’s student from class eighth. Back then in spite of being literate in Kannada I was not confident enough in the subject. The subject was scary. But post being Sir’s student I had reached the heights of scoring full mraks in Kannada language in my board exams. Sir had made me confident enough to give voice over in Kannada for puppetry.”

Uday Kumar Addoor expressed, “Along Kannada lessons Shridhar master has taught us the life lessons. Recalling the day when he got punished by sir, Uday said, “It is like a rock being beaten to bring out a beautiful sculpture. I have become one now,” he said.

Kodibettu Rajalakshmi said, “There exist a lot of individuals who teach us life. But Shridhar master is someone who has helped us like a mother get the life lessons rooted into our life system.”

Dr. Vadiraja Kalluraya saidd, “Shridhar sir is a noble person who showed us mother’s love in an educational institution.”

Shridhar Jain overwhelmed listening to his students expressed, “Now I feel I should have taught my students even better.”

Expressing the ‘ Role of teachers in the evolution of a generation’ students expressed, “Teenage is a period when students get attracted to several things they see. At this point of time, a best teacher one who guides and separates good from bad is very essential.”

Both teacher and students appreciated the initiative of Newskarnataka of providing a platfom to speak and express gratitude towards their beloved teacher.
