Listen to the Article narrated by the author:

Usha Mehta was 22 years old when she went “underground” in order to run a secret radio station against British colonial rule. Subhash Chandra Bose- excelled in his studies and stood out in class. He strongly felt for his country even when being a teenager and would lash out at anyone who made remarks against his country, India.
These were the youth of India pre-independence.

However, if the situation now is analysed, indeed youth in India have evolved in technology and instead of radio social media has become the source but this time it is to fuel hatred rather than to fight the colony. Lashing out among teens in colleges continue but in the name of religion. As 66% of total population of the country are youth, the greatest strength of India is in its youth. But ‘Where may India and its development be ranked in the coming 25 years?’ seems a dreadful question. Communalism, smart phone addiction and addiction to intoxicating substance are the current areas Indian youth are trending in. When these country framing generation obtains power, the status of India is hard to be analysed.

A study done by National Commission for Protection of Child Rights stated, 37.15 per cent of children have experienced reduced levels of concentration due to smartphone usage. Karnataka Child Rights Trust Observatory (KCRO) on children during the pandemic found that a whopping 70% of kids are addicted to mobile-phones where as drug addiction is 4.6 lakh among adults of India as per AIIMS report.
From hoisting the national flag with dare in British offices to shamefully climbing the flag pole of the college to hoist communal flag, the students are being politically manipulated. Smoking and consuming alcohol within college and hostel campuses with management being aware of the actions has polluted the holy institute named college. Where do our kids get the supply? How is such illegal intoxicants are made accessible to school and college-going students? Is it not any infused plan to destroy the upcoming generations of the nation? All seem a valid question.

A high hit awakening against combating rapid spread of communalism among students, mobile phone and substance abuse is the need of the hour. Phasing up with the ideals of the freedom struggle (Art. 51 A ) and working on to Protect Sovereignty and Integrity of India are the solutions in order to save India.

A rational enlightenment among the youths on their each wrong step has to be cautioned and warned about. A good teacher and the best of parents can fix the issue concerning the future of India and its youth or surely a horrific society is no far from India’s view.
