The man, who identifies himself as Abhijeet Patidar, is seen saying in the video, “Bewafai nahi karne ka (Do not be unfaithful),” inside a resort room with the woman lying in a pool of blood on the bed. The man was recognised to be her boyfriend, reported The Wire.

The killing of Masood, an 18-year-old boy who was on his visit to his grandparents’ house in Sullia, the murder of Praveen Nettaru, the attack of Fazil Surathkal, killing of girlfriend Shradha Walker by Aftab Poonawala and storing the body in the refrigerator, a 46-year-old man in Rajasthan beaten to death for drinking water from a tubewell and many more was witnessed in the year 2022. At the same time, people arguing against the one who stopped dogs from entering their streets are going viral on social media and also applauded for, stating ‘dogs too have life’. In the era where animal parenting too has gained importance, human life and blood are losing significance based on the race, caste, gender and faith they possess. The situation has stood at a juncture where attacks on human beings are encouraged and on animals are pitied upon. Indeed every life matters but the question remains “Is human life the least significant one in comparison to the position of the animals!?”

Entering through the new year as per the Gregorian calendar, two forms of resolution have become a need of the hour. One is the resolution on personal development and the other is a resolution to work for the betterment of the country we are living in. A resolution of making our domicile a peaceful space for another human’s existence. The fundamental duty in our Constitution emphasises the protection of the life of wildlife, river and forest. The significance is also given to the promotion of harmony and the spirit of common brotherhood amongst all the people of India. Inculcate a small act of smiling at any individual you come across. Make acquaintances and friends from among diversified ideologies. Be open to dissent and difference of opinion. Make sure that your ideology doesn’t destroy your relationship with another human. Dissent on ideologies but not on individuals and finally carry the pride in promoting brotherhood and making our country a peaceful one.
