Paul L. Pogba is a French Professional football player who plays for the France national team and various clubs too. He is a specialised midfielder but also fits well at left wing, attacking midfield, defensive midfield and deep too. Paul Pogba has been one of the most talked about footballers of the past decade after his exit from Manchester United, his form of the game at Juventus, his return to Manchester and then his return to the Bianconeri in the summer of 2022. Everyone hoped and expected that upon heading to Turin, Pogba would rediscover his best form and re-prove that he is one of the best midfielders in world football. There was no doubt about it since he has some of the insane skillsets of football which no other player has manifested so far.
However, that did not happen at all to the shock of all. He was restricted from playing even a single game for Juventus since his return. The major cause being his massive injuries, his future looked uncertain. The reports say that Pogba suffered a meniscus injury in training. Juventus management seems to have urged him to have knee surgery immediately to which he decided otherwise, which is a big part of why he has been out for so long.
As any player would dream of, Pogba targeted to be back for the World Cup in Qatar. To his surprise, even his own hope of getting well without having surgery was no more alive. Finally, he had to submit himself to the surgeons who worked at best to get his meniscus issues solved. As a result, weeks and months were invested in recovery, which is a great loss, as obviously, he is out of the football court. Saddest of all, he could only dream of the Qatar World Cup. After all the hard work to recover, he made a comeback in fact to the bench against Monza in January but did not go on for a longer time as he suffered again a new flexor injury.
For any management, it would be hard to make decisions in this situation of this sought, since the hoped player is out for a long time. But the nobility of the Juventus management was much appreciated as the coach expressed his patience in waiting for the player to return fit. He said, “It takes time for Pogba, nobody can work miracles. His body must adapt. We must use him wisely and at the right moment when he will be fit.”
However, the management could not wait for too long and legend Marco Tardelli criticised Pogba and his return to the club not in a fit condition. Juventus considers him more of a problem as they don’t know when he’ll return. The management also started accusing him of not going for the knee injury when it was suggested.
Arguably the most annoying element of all this for Juventus fans was that it is not clear at all when Pogba will be able to help the team. He had not even been on the bench since the Monza game and was again absent from the matchday squad against Spezia.
It seemed that the games were just passing by weeks and months with little mention of the 29-year-old. There were also rumours that he would no more be part of the club. But the player remained focused and hoped for the best. He has said at multiple places that he will for sure be back to the court to rebuild the confidence of the club, fans, and the football at large that has been there from the beginning. In fact, he made his first Serie A appearance of the season against long-time rival Turino when he came on late in the second half to a standing ovation. Perhaps players like Pogba are the idols of many footballers for the exhibition of sportsmanship at its best. Juventus has set a record now for being most patient with its players for return from injuries.
