Dubai: The 29th episode of NewsKarnataka.com’s talk show ‘Sunday Celebrity’ was held on Sunday July 17 at 8.00 pm IST.
The guest for the evening was Lion Austin D’Souza, PhD, Past District Governor, and Past Council Chair, Chicago, USA. Floyd Kiran was the host for the event.
The programme was premiered on NewsKarnataka.com’s Facebook and YouTube channels.
In the beginning of the show Floyd Kiran introduced the guest and welcomed him.
Speaking about his childhood, schooling and career Lion Austin D’Souza reminisced, “Till class tenth I was not into any sports activities in school, as I was avoided due to the lean and thin physical fitness. Austin D’souza saidd, “In spite of joining a company at Mumbai, my mind was always thinking on how to write and frame a write up in konkani.”
“My parents regarded me as ‘Manege maari oorige upakaari’ for my little generosity towards needy, though they never stood as a hurdle on my way,” he said sharing about his service in Lions Club.
Sharing the difficult phase of his life Lion Austin D’Souza said, “I was a busy man with lot of work, and coming to Chicago I felt left bare handed. Where as, from being a silent boy of the school to turning into a social worker is been the turning point in my life, which happend in Mumbai,” he shared.
As an advice to the audience Lion Austin D’Souza said, “Whatever work you are doing bring interest in it inspite of you not liking it because you are working for yourseld and you are working for your family. Erase the thought impossible, and you can do it,” he motivated.
