Belgavi Kunda is one of North Karnataka’s most popular sweets. It is so popular that Belgaum is now also known as Kunda Nagari. This traditional sweet has been loved by everyone in Karnataka.
Belgaum or Belagavi is a City in Karnataka also known as the sugar bowl of Karnataka on account of its large sugarcane production. Kunda is prepared purely from milk and sugar which is cooked in a wood fire for nearly 5 to 6 hours, in a traditional way. It is also it is a healthy snack though, which contains high nutrients and calcium.
A correct quantity of khowa and sugar has to be mixed in milk before boiling it. Once the mixture starts boiling, it has to be continuously stirred until it takes a solid form.
