Mysuru modelling sensation Mirza Jawaher Ali to walk the ramp for India in Bulgaria

Indian Modelling legends Milind Soman and Arjun Rampal are passé. Anup Pegu and Hrishant Goswami have replaced them! But Mirza Jawaher Ali, all of 21 years, still an infant in what is a demanding and unforgiving industry is getting there and may well replace them at the top.

He will represent India – that is the nation, mind you – at the annual modelling pageant, ‘Supermodel universe 2019’ at its second edition to be held in Sofia, Bulgaria between September 16 and 21. And if he wins, which we are confident, he will, then the sky, no, the ramp is not a limiting factor. What inspires him are former President Abdul Kalam’s words, “Dreams aren’t which you see in sleep dreams are which never let you sleep.” His dream was to represent India in an International Pageant and his dream will come true when he travels to Sofia next month. And if he wins, so will ours!

“It has been my dream to represent India at the Best model of Grand Universe 2019; Now, I aim to win the contest,” Mirza Jawaher Ali said adding that the pageant will have participants from 25 countries and “I must be at the top of my game to win it”. “I am focusing on my physique and I am sweating it out in the gym for more than four hours every day to remain fit. Nothing is tough because I believe in hard work. If you work hard one day it pays; this is what I believe” he adds. Indeed, it’s a world where a six-pack is very important, and it has nothing to do with beer!

Modelling is not only what Jawaher does. He is a Bachelor of Business Administration graduate and a ‘Tally’ Software trainer by profession. This dashing debonair dude (the adjectives keep flowing) is also a big foodie who loves to eat, travel and explore the world. “I’m a foodie ye, but I know I have lost something to get something, “he says. Not only is he handsome, but he is also practical! The stubble he sports on his face only adds to his charm and allure.

Jawaher hails from Sakleshpur, a coffee-growing paradise, located halfway between Mangaluru and Bengaluru in Hassan District, where his father Mirza Mahar Ali, drives an auto and his mother dotes on him. “They are my strength and motivate me constantly,” he says. He moved to Mysuru to pursue an acting and modelling career and though it was something he wanted to pursue always, he was looking for that elusive piece of luck to ramp up his opportunities – Pun intended! He started winning titles at the district level and his career has progressed linearly in accordance with his dreams, displaying a congruence between dreams and reality that is quite rare in our world.

Jawaher has been modelling now for close on 4 years; in those 4 years, he has won quite a few titles along the way. These include the Mr Dasara runner up 2015; Model of the year fresh face runner-up 2016; Mr Karnataka TCU 2018; Mr Glam Mania runway 2018; Mr Heritage Karnataka 2018; and the clincher, Best Model of Grand Universe India 2019; It an old but true adage – fortune favours the brave, and the lucky – for some of us!; Like most of us do, when we are in college or otherwise, he uploaded his best photo on Facebook. An organizer of a fashion show came across the photo and asked him to be a part of that fashion event. He has not looked back after that. And though people now recognize him, because his picture adorns hoardings and magazine pages, it has not changed him; not one wee bit. “I was nothing before; now people recognize me because of modelling, but it has not changed who I am.”

Now that he is off to Sofia for this international Pageant, future plans are already swirling in his head. He says, “opportunities for men in the modelling industry are comparatively less as designers mostly design for women. Also, it is very difficult for men from an underprivileged background to enter this industry – They require grooming and opportunity. I plan to start a modelling institute specifically for them”.

Most models, male or female, often try their luck on the small and big screens; some succeed, some don’t. In this, Mirza Ali Jawaher is no different. “I’m really interested in acting in a TV serial especially in Kannada. I hope my chance will come soon!” he says.

The handsome Mirza Ali Jawaher, trained and groomed under GLAMMANIA, is all set to win the Super Model Universe 2019 pageant and make India proud. Yet he remains grounded in reality. “Financially its tough and winning can make all the difference. But I know winning and losing are two faces of the same coin”, Mirza said.

Mirza is a son of our soil and we at Newskarnataka.com wish that he comes back with a sash across his shoulder and a crown on his head. He needs our support; let’s give it to him!
