Delhi: Elon Musk announced on Wednesday December 21 that he will resign his position as Twitter’s CEO as soon as he finds a replacement.
Taking it to Twitter Musk wrote, “I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job! After that, I will just run the software and servers teams.”

An announcement in this regard came after Musk asked Twitter users if they thought he should step down as CEO of Twitter earlier in the week. He also said that he will abide by the results of this poll.
While 57.5 per cent of voters supported Musk’s decision to leave his position as Twitter’s CEO, 42.5 per cent opposed it. The poll received a total of 1.75 Crore votes.
Since the announcement ‘Twitter CEO’ has been trending on Twitter. People have been flooding their opinion as well as sharing memes after the announcement.
“I feel that @elonmusk should continue as the CEO of Twitter. I support his visions to improve Twitter. I feel that everyone should give him some time, as it’s only been about 2 months, and Twitter already feels like a much better place than it used to be,” wrote a user.
Another person stated, “Elon is impulsive to the point of being reckless. We need him to stay as the head of Twitter, but he under-estimated what a left-wing swamp Twitter had become.”
“Out of all the people publicly vying/crying/begging for the Twitter CEO job, which ones have run a profitable company? Or run a company that was profitable for at least 3 years in a row? Twitter doesn’t need to turn a personality, it needs to turn a profit,” wrote a user.
Musk bought Twitter in October, and a lot has happened at the company since then. He acknowledged that he has too much on his plate and that, if he finds a replacement, he would give up his Twitter responsibilities. It can be recalled that around 5,000 of Twitter’s 7,500 employees left the company after he took over as CEO.
However, Musk has never before considered leaving his position as CEO of the social media site, though.
