Queenstown :New Zealands No.5 batsman Corey Anderson hit the worlds fastest one-day century to set a solid platform for his team against West Indies at Queenstown. In the third ODI against the West Indies, the all-rounder blazed away to a 36-ball century in a 21-overs-a-side match, overtaking Shahid Afridi’s record (37 balls).
Anderson needed just 36 balls to bring up his triple figures, breaking the 17-year-old record held by Pakistans Shahid Afridi by one ball.
Anderson finished unbeaten on 131 off 47 balls, an innings that included 14 sixes and six fours.
Moments later, opener Jesse Ryder brought up the second-fastest ODI century for a Kiwi with a single off his 46th ball. The duo added 191 runs off just 12.1 overs for fourth-wicket to take New Zealand to 283 for 4 in 21 overs.
