Jabalpur (M.P): Jharkhand thumped Bihar by 10 wickets to book their place in the Super 8s of the IndusInd Bank Nagesh Trophy National T20 Cricket for the Blind being played here at the Ranital Sports Complex. Bihar had earlier qualified for the crossover match by beating Tripura and topping Group E.

After being sent into bat by Jharkhand, Bihar batters got off to good starts. These starts were not converted into big scores as they kept losing wickets. Angad Kumar Singh who scored 35 and Gautam Kumar Singh who scored 22 offered some resistance in the innings for Bihar. Eventually, they were bowled out for 126 runs in 19.3 overs. Golu Kumar returned with figures of 2/33 while Rahul Soren, Nishit Bara and Rohit Oraon took a wicket each for Jharkhand. Chasing a small target, Jharkhand openers Nishit Bara and Rahul Soren made it a no-contest for the opposition as they chased down the target inside 12 overs with Rahul Soren hitting the winning runs. Rahul remained unbeaten on 51 of 39 balls while Nishit scored 57 of 39 balls helping their team to qualify for the Super 8s.

In the final group match of the tournament, Bihar beat Tripura by 74 runs to top Group E and qualify for the crossover match. Tripura won the toss and sent Bihar to bat first in the match reduced to 17 overs per side. Aided by significant contributions from Md. Shahid Aman (34), Md. Israfil (42) and Gautam Kumar Singh (26), Bihar scored 182/7 in 17 overs. Biswajith Debnath returned with figures of 3/28 while Sukanta Sankar, Arpan Das and Nishi Malakar took a wicket each. Chasing a formidable total, Tripura batters faltered under pressure and lost wickets regularly. Apart from Sukanta Sarkar and Md. Amzad Hossain, no other batter reached double figures. Tripura eventually ended their innings on 108/9 in 17 overs. Md. Israfil took 3/28 for Bihar and was the pick of the bowlers.

The Super 8s lineup will be completed after the other crossover eliminator between Chandigarh who came first in Group F and Maharashtra who were second in Group B in Chandigarh.
