Guyana: The Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur has now become the first Indian woman to have hit a century in the shortest format of the game in women’s cricket. This happened at the opening game of the Women’s World T20 at the Providence Stadium, Guyana when she hit a 51-ball 103 against New Zealand.
The team again emerged victorious in its second match of the tournament after defeating arch-rivals Pakistan by 7 wickets with Kaur again dazzling in the spotlight.
Prior to the clash, both the teams were standing in unison for their respective national anthems accompanied by mascots in front of them, a mascot in front of Kaur fell ill. Noticing this, she quickly carried the young girl after the anthem and handed her over to the management. This incident was caught on tape and then later shared by a Twitter user.
