Pakistan: The controversy in Pakistan cricket is never ending. Adding the new list of controversy is the on-going public spat between veteran Pakistan cricketer Javed Miandad and former Paksitan captain Shahid Afridi. Javed, who is known for his controversial statements, has accused Afridi of match fixing.
This has not gone well with Shahid Afridi, who in turn accused Miandad of going behind money. He also compared Miandad to another cricketing legend Imran Khan and said that due to Miandad’s badmouthing, he could not reach the popularity heights of Imran Khan. This did not end here. Miandad asked Afridi to swear upon his children and say he has not thrown away Pakistan’s matches.
To put an end to controversy, Afridi tweeted, “Javed Miandad is legend of cricket but he used very harsh words on TV for long time. He made personal attack on me for no reason. I tolerated for long time but every person has a limit, sad that Javed Miandad was making personal attacks for long time. I regret what I said to a senior but of course I had to eventually react to his behaviour.”
Javed Miandad is always controversies favourite child. He had recently spoken against BCCI President Anurag Thakur. Even during his cricketing days, he was always involved in one or other controversies. He is said to be close to underworld and uses his clout. Coincidentally his son is married to global terrorist and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s daughter.
