Delhi Capitals Eye Yuvraj Singh for Coaching Role

The franchise’s only notable performance in recent years came during the 2020 season when they reached the final but fell short.

Yuvraj Singh’s association with Delhi Capitals dates back to 2015, when he was acquired by the then Delhi Daredevils for a record-breaking Rs 16 crore. His stint with the team saw him contribute 248 runs in 14 matches, including two fifties, although Delhi finished seventh that year.

Ricky Ponting’s tenure as head coach of Delhi Capitals began in 2018. His initial year with the team saw them finish at the bottom of the table. However, Ponting’s leadership subsequently brought a turnaround, with Delhi Capitals qualifying for the playoffs from 2019 to 2021. The peak of this period was in 2020 when the team reached the final under captain Shreyas Iyer.
