Two years after its global debut in September 2023, Apple’s iPhone 15 has received a major price drop in India. The smartphone, which launched at ₹79,900, is now available for ₹50,900 on JioMart, the e-commerce platform run by Reliance Retail — a discount of nearly ₹29,000 from its original MRP.

In addition to this substantial markdown, select bank offers on JioMart further reduce the effective price, making the iPhone 15 one of the most affordable flagship devices in Apple’s lineup today.

iPhone 15 still future-ready

Despite being two years old, the iPhone 15 remains a reliable and powerful device, offering modern hardware and long-term software support. Apple has confirmed that the model will continue to receive iOS updates and new features for at least four more years, ensuring continued compatibility and performance.

The device features an aerospace-grade aluminium chassis and holds an IP68 water and dust resistance rating, maintaining Apple’s high durability standards.

Flagship design and performance

The iPhone 15 marked a design evolution with the introduction of the Dynamic Island, previously exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro models. It also features a Super Retina XDR display, known for vibrant colours and sharp contrast.

Powered by the A16 Bionic chipset, the same processor used in the iPhone 14 Pro, the smartphone houses a 6-core CPU with two high-performance cores and four high-efficiency cores. The chipset delivers 20% better power efficiency and effortlessly handles intensive gaming, multitasking, and video editing, all while maintaining excellent battery life.

Advanced dual-camera system

The iPhone 15 is equipped with a 48MP main camera featuring sensor-shift optical image stabilisation (OIS), f/1.6 aperture, and 26mm focal length. It also includes a 12MP telephoto lens offering 2x optical zoom — a first for the regular iPhone lineup.

Users can adjust the focus point after capturing photos, a feature powered by Apple’s computational photography system.

On the front, the 12MP TrueDepth camera supports Face ID, FaceTime, and high-quality selfies. The device promises an all-day battery life on a single charge.

Great value for Apple loyalists

At ₹50,900, the iPhone 15’s new price point makes it a compelling upgrade for users coming from older iPhone models such as the iPhone 11 or 12, or Android users looking to switch to Apple’s ecosystem.

With its flagship camera, power-efficient A16 chip, and modern design, it remains one of the best options in the premium smartphone segment — now at a much more accessible price.
