
Teen electrocuted while decorating for Christmas
A 14-year-old boy tragically lost his life due to an accidental electric shock while decorating his house for Christmas in Peradittaya Katte, Tenkarandur village, Beltangadi taluk, on Thursday. The deceased, Stephen Stanley D’Souza, was electrocuted while setting up decorations in his yard. Venur police have registered a case in connection with the incident.
In another case, the Mangaluru Forest mobile squad seized a vehicle transporting illegal wooden logs in Baikampady on Thursday. A total of 61 logs, valued at Rs 6 lakh, were confiscated, and a case has been filed against the individual, Muthappa, for illegal transportation.
Meanwhile, a tragic accident in Puttur led to the death of a 66-year-old two-wheeler rider. Abdul Kunhi, the victim, was hit by a KSRTC bus at Mura in Kabaka village on Thursday. The impact caused him and his bike to be thrown onto the road. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Puttur traffic police have also registered a case regarding the incident.
