
Three Arrested in Udupi Murder Case After 1.5 Years
Udupi: Police have arrested three individuals in connection with a murder near Karavali Junction, which took place nearly one and a half years ago.
The accused have been identified as:
- Kanakappa Hanumanth Rodi (46)
- Yamanoor Tippanna Maran Basari (24)
- Yamanoorappa Jedi alias Rodi Yamanoorappa (26)
All three are residents of Bilakal Kushtagi, Koppal district.
Gruesome Killing Over a Petty Dispute
The incident occurred between October 16-17, 2023. The victim, Kittur Siddappa Shivanappa Hubballi, was brutally attacked with a weapon, and his right hand was severed before he was killed near Karavali Junction.
Investigations revealed that the murder stemmed from a dispute over a missing piece of clothing. On the night of the crime, Siddappa had assaulted Chinnu Patel Hubballi, a friend of accused Yamanoor Basari. When Basari confronted Siddappa, he too was attacked. Seeking revenge, the trio later ambushed Siddappa and Basari allegedly killed him with a machete.
The accused have been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
