Tragedy Strikes Ballari: Six Lives Lost in Separate Road Mishaps
Ballari witnessed a tragic day on Monday as two separate road accidents claimed the lives of six individuals, including two young children.
In the first incident, a devastating collision between a private vehicle and a truck occurred near Jaysingpur village in Sandur Taluk. The crash led to the death of five members from the same family. The victims were identified as Nandish (28), his spouse Jayalakshmi (25), his sister Asha (32), and Asha’s two children — nine-month-old Bindushri and five-year-old Sai Satwik. The family’s car reportedly collided head-on with the truck under unclear circumstances. A three-year-old girl, also a relative, sustained critical injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at BMCRC Hospital in Ballari. Authorities have registered a case and initiated an investigation at Sandur Police Station.
In a separate accident on National Highway 150(A) near Tekkalakote, another life was lost. A car veered off course and crashed into a bridge, killing Shashidhar (48), a native of Maddur taluk in Mandya district. Two passengers sustained injuries and were rushed to BMCRC for medical attention. Police from Tekkalakote Station have filed a case and are probing the cause of the mishap.
Both incidents have sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the urgent need for improved road safety measures and public awareness.
