
Two youths killed, three injured in tragic car crash near Punajanur
A devastating accident in the early hours of today claimed the lives of two young men from Mysuru and left three others injured when their car rammed into a roadside tree near the Punajanur Check-Post on Chamarajanagar-Satyamangala Road.
The deceased have been identified as 24-year-olds Jeevan and Nandan, both residents of Ramabainagar, Mysuru. The injured—Shashank from Ramabainagar, Dhanush from Vidyaranyapuram, and Sunil Kumar from Belawadi, Gundlupet taluk—were rushed to Chamarajanagar District Hospital for treatment.
The group had traveled from Mysuru to Bejjalapalya to attend a wedding ceremony the previous evening. After spending the night at Punajanur, they were on their way back to the wedding choultry this morning when the fatal accident occurred.
Chamarajanagar Superintendent of Police B.T. Kavitha, along with senior police officials, visited the crash site to inspect the scene and oversee the investigation.
