Udupi Police Detain Two More Alleged Illegal Immigrants from Karkala
Udupi police have detained two more individuals suspected of being illegal immigrants in the Karkala region. The action comes as part of an ongoing investigation into illegal immigration in the district. Superintendent of Police (SP) Arun K confirmed the detentions, stating that further inquiries are being conducted before formal arrests are made. The police also carried out the mahazar (spot inspection and documentation) procedure in two places on Wednesday as part of the investigation.
This development follows a recent crackdown by the Malpe police, who arrested seven Bangladeshi nationals for allegedly residing in India using forged Aadhaar cards. Similarly, Bajpe police in Mangaluru arrested another Bangladeshi national for similar offenses. Authorities suspect that these individuals may be part of a larger network involved in forging identification documents to remain in the country illegally.
The increasing number of cases involving illegal immigrants in Karnataka, particularly in Udupi and Mangaluru, has raised concerns about national security and document forgery. Law enforcement agencies are intensifying efforts to identify and apprehend individuals involved in such activities, while also ensuring that proper legal procedures are followed to handle these sensitive cases.
