204 from Udupi, 311 others test COVID positive; Tally rises to 4835

Udupi: As many as 515 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Karnataka on Friday, June 5, 204 of whom are from Udupi. No deaths were reported today. The state’s tally has now risen to 4,835.

Dakshina Kannada has reported eight cases today.

The Yadagir district has reported the second-highest number of cases with 74 new infections followed by Vijayapura (53), Kalaburagi (42), Bidar (39) and Belagavi (36).

The other cases have been reported from Mandya (13), Bengaluru Rural (12), Bengaluru Urban (10), Uttara Kannada (7), Dharwad (3), Hassan (3), Chikkaballapura (3), Ramanagar (2), Haveri (2), Kolar (1), Davanagere (1), Ballari (1), and Bagalkot (1).

Again, most of the new cases are Maharashtra returnees.

As many as 83 people were discharged today, bringing the total recoveries to 1,688. There are a total of 3,088 active cases in the state and so far, 57 people have succumbed to the disease or comorbidities.
