Kadike Trust trains a second batch of Udupi saree weavers at Kinnigoli

Kinnigoli: Udupi saree weaving training program by Kadike Trust for the second batch of five weavers commenced at Talipady weavers society Kinnigoli today. Nabard Karnataka has funded this program. Five rural young women will be trained in Udupi Saree weaving in this training.

Mamatha Rai, President, Kadike Trust gave details about the training to the trainees and wished them well, she also congratulated the trainees who have successfully finished the training on behalf of Kadike Trust. All the five trainees have been appointed at the Talipady weaver’s society.

Trainees who have successfully finished the training shared their experience, Seetha one of the trainee said even though she had not seen a loom in her lifetime before, after the training of two months she is able to weave clothes now.

Trainers Mohini Shettigar, Sanjeeva Shettigar, and Anand Shettigar President of Talipady society gave valuable tips about weaving to trainees. ” Leave all your worries at home. Pay complete attention and learn with confidence. Also, learn by observing others’ work, we are ready to teach whatever we know “, these are the advice given by senior weaver Sanjeevanna. 

Chikkappa Shetty Secretary Kadike Trust, Madhava Shettigar, M D, Talipady weavers society, and weavers of society participated in the program.
