Make sure that there is no scarcity of beds: Basavaraj Bommai

Udupi: The number of daily tests which is at 3,000 at present should be increased to 4,000, said state home minister and district in-charge Basavaraj Bommai to the officials. He directed the officials to make sure that there is no scarcity of beds.

He asked the DSP to ensure that people do not gather in large numbers. He said that restrict religious celebrations and processions. “Refer patients who need ICU treatment to private hospitals under Ayushman Bharat – Arogya Karnataka’ (ABARK) scheme,” he said.

He instructed that cotton swab test must be provided for people from Mumbai and Kerala who are arriving in the district. “Make sure that there is no scarcity of oxygen,” the minister said.

Basavaraj Bommai asked the authorities to ensure that fishing activities were not hindered.

Deputy commissioner G Jagadeesh informed the minister on the various actions carried out by the administration to control the second wave. He said that that tests would be increased and that private hospitals have been already asked to reserve beds for coronavirus patients.
