A tragic incident occurred at Sastana Kodi when 60-year-old Raju Marakala from Yakshimata, near Kota, was found dead after falling into a rivulet. Marakala, who had gone fishing on August 8, went missing, leading to a search for his whereabouts.
Marakala was last seen at the Kodi rivulet, where he had ventured to collect cockles. Despite efforts to locate him, he remained missing until Saturday morning when local fishermen discovered his body floating in the rivulet.
The fishermen promptly reported the discovery to the Kota police station and the local gram panchayat. Following the report, the police, assisted by the Jeevanmitra team, retrieved Marakala’s body from the water.
This unfortunate event underscores the dangers of fishing in potentially hazardous areas and the importance of community vigilance in such situations.
