Udupi: The Udupi district administration has decided to seal the borders of the district for 14 days in bid to contain the spread of Covid pandemic. With this, no lockdown has been announced in the district, even as neighbouring Dakshina Kannada district goes into week-long lockdown.
In a meeting, held on Tuesday, July 14, Udupi DC G Jagadeesh said that the all those traveling in and out of the district will be allowed to do so till 8 pm on Wednesday, July 15, following which the borders will be sealed for two weeks.
Bus services too will be halted from Wednesday evening. The total Sunday lockdown will be in place as usual, said the DC.
The meeting held on Tuesday morning was attended by MLAs Sunil Kumar, Sukumar Shetty, Lalaji Mendon among others.
