Udupi: The police arrested five persons in connection with the recent murder of a rowdy-sheeter in Hiriyadka. They are yet to reveal the details of the accused, who are expected to appear before the court this afternoon.
Kishan Hegde (35), the victim was hacked to death with swords near the Shri Veerabhadra temple in Hiriyadka in broad daylight on Thursday. After the incident, four teams were formed to investigate the case.
It is said that Kishan Hegde and his accomplices, Divyajraj Shetty, a resident of Mangalore Kallagudde, and Hariprasad Shetty, had gone to Hiriyadka Sri Veerabhadra Temple after meeting with lawyers in Udupi.
In his complaint to the police, Divyaraj Shetty stated that Manoj Kodikare and his gang were allegedly waiting for Kishan with lethal weapons and as soon as he got out of his car, they attacked and hacked him to death. He added that the motive behind the incident was a financial rivalry between Manoj and Kishan.
